Cairo International Book Fair
Established in 1969 to mark the millennium of Cairo, CIBF is the oldest book fair in the Arab world and one of the largest by visitor numbers, regularly drawing more than three million attendees to the Egypt International Exhibition Center. The fair is the principal commercial event for Arabic-language publishing, with a heavy concentration of Egyptian, Lebanese, Saudi, Jordanian, and Moroccan houses, and a programme that ranges from religious scholarship and classical Arabic literature to contemporary fiction, children's books, and academic publishing.
